An exciting competition, the Maths Olympiad, has begun for a select group of mathematicians. The competition offers many benefits as it teaches problem-solving strategies and strengthens students’ mathematical intuition. The Olympiad is extremely challenging and is typically designed for high-achieving Year 5 & 6 students, but this year, we have included a small number of exceptional Year 3 & 4 students.
Throughout Term 1, the twenty students have attended before-school sessions to prepare for the competition. These practice sessions will continue in Terms 2 and 3.
The first of the four Maths Olympiad challenges takes place on the 3rd May.
