Look who visited St Paul’s this week! Our Year 3 & 5 classes enjoyed the Brownes Dairy Incursion with Farmer Damian and Belinda the Jersey cow. We learned how fresh white milk, cream, yoghurt and flavoured milk products are made and enjoyed a short documentary that took students through the milk journey from farm to dairy to store to homes. Students also discussed the health benefits of dairy, food safety, animal welfare, the science of dairy and got to sample some delicious yoghurt. We had first-hand experience milking a real cow and developed an understanding of where milk really comes from. We were fortunate enough to also enjoy a yoghurt pouch as an afternoon treat!
